Creating a Moral Compass and Testable Framework for AI Projects…

Solutions must be properly challenged by all stakeholders before embarking on Intelligent Automation projects. We have, previously unknown, responsibilities to ensure that proposed projects do not conflict with the tenets of moral practice for the deployment and use of Artificial Intelligence.

Green Lemon Company has compiled a preliminary list of questions that enlightened organisations must ask themselves…

“You need to be more specific about the outcomes you can accept…”

Are we unanimous that the proposed AI solution will NOT;

  • propagate, support or enable breach of human rights
  • perform immoral, exploitative or illegal activities
  • present or exacerbate risk to the private data of organisations and individuals
  • endanger the stability and safety of vulnerable communities and individuals
  • seek to influence minors outside the care of their parents or guardians
  • expose users’ data to unwarranted disclosure and manipulation
  • infringe the rights of users to privacy, safety and disclosure

Are we unanimous that the proposed AI solution will;

  • add value and overall be positive to the human condition
  • promote and enable inclusion, equality and diversity
  • have sufficient safeguards and transparency
  • enable human auditability and oversight
  • be accessible to all without discrimination

And, lastly;

  • has the human and environmental impact of the technology solution been properly evaluated?
  • have all risks been identified, rated and mitigated in the design?
  • has the outcome been properly considered and clearly defined in order to set expectations?
  • have parameters been agreed for accuracy and precision?

This is just the start of a long thought process and debate…we welcome any contribution to draft a robust framework for AI innovation and deployment.
